Earn Your Story: Triumph

Our newest Earn Your Story™ video is entitled “Triumph.” Mark called me one evening excited about the completion of his newest wallet prototype. After seeing the finished prototype and knowing all the hardwork that went into it, I found it only fitting that Mark and I skip work the following day to celebrate his triumph on the slopes of Mt. Baker. It’s been 3-years in the making, but the completion of this newest design takes a huge burden off of Mark’s shoulders and will allow him to focus on new projects. It’s been a long haul replete with headaches and long nights, but through perseverance and dedication Mark achieved triumph. And that’s what it means to Earn Your Story! P.S....

What it Means to Earn Your Story

A few months back we started an initiative called Earn Your Story™. Many people have been asking us the meaning behind the phrase. We’ve been making mentions on the website, creating videos around it and we even trademarked it, so it’s definitely an important initiative for us. But what does it mean to “Earn Your Story”? Earn Your Story are anecdotes from real people capturing the struggle, dedication and sacrifice we’ve all endured to eventually land back on our feet and succeed. Earn Your Story: Wanderlust

Trayvax encourages exploration in the outdoors, because it strengthens us in a fashion that can’t be found elsewhere. Trayvax-style travel means you risk becoming uncomfortable in a foreign environment, with the hopes to see and live experiences you may have otherwise missed. Meghan has done just that. A thick case of wanderlust, and need for a mental escape from her Federal job, caused her to purchase a ticket to Guatemala, a place she had never been before. For Meg, this trip was part of a promise she had made to herself: to explore new places without question. The five days she spent there, she was outside hiking Pacaya Volcano which peaked at 8,000 feet. A local guide showed her the best trail-heads to...

Earn Your Story: The Hardest Things

Courage doesn’t come from trials and tribulations; courage comes after you’ve survived. Emily is a woman who exhibits this mantra, because she has lived it as a deployed Marine in Afghanistan, and now as a mother of two beautiful young daughters.                 At the Naval Academy, all the men wanted to date her, and all the women wanted to be her. Not because she was an exuberant with her talent and strength, but because of her humility in those gifts. She studied, went to Catholic mass, ran beside sea-foam green coast of Annapolis water, and worked on herself as a role model.                 “I wanted to know myself, and sometimes that connection was hard, and sometimes it wasn’t, but I...

Earn Your Story: Cross-Country Sweden Part 1

Cross-country skiing is a form of skiing where disciplined technique is developed to glide or skate. To many, it seems picturesque and romantic in a holiday-activity way. But, grab a beer with give-and-take conversation over the reality of what cross-country skiing is: blisters the size of coasters, sprained ankle after sprained ankle, knees that are a permanent shade of purple from bruises, and stamina to trek for 10 miles a day in freezing temperatures. This is a marriage of commitment plus aptitude, and Colin VanderCreek is an example of that.                 He’s impulsive about nothing in his life except for trips. Last year, he found a cheap flight to Sweden, and looked for a reason to go. An eight-day cross-country ski...
