Every time we meet a new person the question “what do you do for a living?” will quickly surface. Each time I am asked this I see it as an opportunity to boast about our Trayvax gear. On average, words fly like “I work for a minimalist gear company out of Bellingham”... queue placing my Contour wallet in their hands. I point out how compact it is, the custom patina that is unique to my person or the functionality of the bottle opener. I've had this conversation with all types of people; young boy to senior citizen, Midwest to foreigners, you can see their eyes light up as they get their hands on it. When I told my sister to enter our daily Trayvax giveaway of $250, she initially thought it would be a good gift for Christmas for a friend. As she entered each day she quickly started realizing how she could benefit from owning a minimalist wallet.
This past weekend I was in Whistler, British Columbia. As I placed the Contour in the hands of a female asking what I did for a living, she instantly asked “do we make women's wallets.” After cracking a grin like she was joking I immediately realized her confusion. “This is our women’s wallet I replied, it is made for everyone."
Trayvax gear has been made for every individual, to move with any lifestyle, backcountry to city life, and everywhere in between. I went on to explain to my new friend that a bulk of our customers are females! One of our goals is to create products that maximize the efficiency of our everyday systems. Taking on a minimalist approach to life makes it easier, by having less stuff. Thus, allowing us to move faster and inevitably be more productive.
On the way up to Whistler from Bellingham we stopped for a night in Vancouver and went out for sushi with some friends. (Pro tip: Vancouver has some amazing sushi!) My friend's wife is a big advocate of carrying a purse with her everywhere. The first time she took a look at my Contour wallet, she discussed how it would help organize her purse. Mostly everyone I talk to with a purse loves the idea of being able to toss items like chapstick, gum or band-aids in there without destroying it. If you are like my friend, as she loved her classic strap over the shoulder purse, then using one of our minimalist wallets inside of the purse would be ideal for seamless organization. Thus, keeping all your important cards and cash all in one place!
Who says that sleek, simple and utilitarian can not be stylish as well! Almost all our wallets have a variety of colors to choose from, whether you want a gold plate for some flash or steel gray toned leather for simplicity, we are here to meet your design needs. Every one of ourleather walletswill form a patina, a custom design based upon your lifestyle. This happens over the first few months of using the wallet. All of our wallets are back by our 65-year heirloom warranty. Everyone at Trayvax is excited about the future & even more to continue to produce products for you to enjoy for decades to come. Below is a recent video from our YouTube Channel of our founder, Mark, explaining who Trayvax is becoming! Enjoy :)

Returning to our natural roots as humans comes with a serene feeling only Mother Nature can provide. Getting away from it all. Last week we did just that with Chad Derosa from Living The Van Life. Naturally we escaped to Pacific Northwest’s beautiful North Cascade mountains, a short drive from the Trayvax warehouse in Bellingham.
Cooking a meal outside can be quick and easy. Whether it is the backyard campout, one night camping escape to fully living off the grid we all have something to gain from sitting around hot coals cooking food as our ancestors did.
