Last year we wanted to do something special during the holidays for the awesome kids at Seattle Children's Hospital. We raised $1500 to purchase toys and books. We worked with neighborhood toy shops and bookstores in Bellingham to keep the money circulating in the community and they returned the favor by hooking us up with some great deals so we could get the most bang for our buck.
This year, we wanted to get the support of area businesses, so we went about knocking on the doors of our neighbors. McEvoy Oil donated $1000 and we matched their generous donation. Our friends over at Signs Plus brought over an assortment of wrapped toys. And our own crew had been collecting toys since October.
Once again we teamed up with Village Books and the Fairhaven Toy Garden for a Friday morning filled with toy shopping! And once again, they showed their support with steep discounts so we could purchase more toys.
After a few hours, we stuffed our rigs full of books and toys and drove 90 miles South to the Children's Hospital to play Santa. Thanks to everyone here at Trayvax for donating, thanks to our neighbors for donating cash and presents, and thanks to you all for supporting Trayvax. We couldn't have done any of this without everyone's support! And a big thanks to Bo for putting all of this together.
